Did you know that 85% of all trained pastors leave the ministry field within the first five years of ministry? At CCV, we have developed a program to change this.
The Leadership Institute's Residency Program trains competent church leaders for longevity. It addresses the most dangerous deficiencies for ministry leaders by providing hands-on training in ten competency areas that cannot be taught effectively in a classroom.
In addition, residents have three layers of mentorship, allowing us to provide an unprecedented 1:6 student to coach/mentor ratio. Upon completion, participants have the tools necessary to be a well-equipped leader who is prepared for a lifetime of ministry service.
CCV’s partnerships with Christian universities allow qualified residents to complete their undergraduate degree, or earn a master’s degree, in conjunction with their residency training. Adult professionals who are not interested in pursuing college credit have the option of participating within a non-academic level.
Each resident is enrolled in seven general leadership competencies (Events & Project Management, First Impressions, Leadership Practices 500 & 600, Life of Christ, Staff Development, and Volunteer Management). An individualized field emphasis is selected for the remaining three competencies. The individual areas for field emphasis are: Children & Family, Church Administration, Multi-sites, Inter-Cultural Studies, Pastoral, Special Needs, Sports, Youth, and Worship/Production.
Each competency provides real-world project-based training by qualified CCV staff and members. Our custom assessment program provides coaches a platform to score residents on performance throughout the residency.
