Resource Connections

Families are encouraged to seek out a variety of resources available through our ministry by contacting any Steering Committee Coordinator, attending an outreach event, participating in our e-mail distribution list, or simply utilizing our valuable e-Directory of families. Additionally, we strive to provide unique support for those families who educate their special needs children at home. Finally, we strongly recommend that families complete a three-pronged plan of support by also connecting with AFHE (Arizona Families for Home Education) at www.afhe.org and HSLDA (Homeschool Legal Defense Association) at www.hslda.org.

Outreach Events

Throughout the year, we will occasionally organize events designed specifically to reach out not only to our registered families but also to homeschooling families outside of our group. These events are designed to welcome homeschooling families at any stage in their journey to learn more about our ministry while making connections with other homeschooling families and resources. Past events include New Comer’s Teas, hosting special speakers/workshops and our annual Parent's Meeting held every August at the CCV campus.

Directory of Families

The e-Directory is produced and distributed electronically two or three times during a season. In addition to the basic contact information, the e-Directory contains how long each family has been homeschooling and their basic approach to homeschooling as well as the names, gender and ages of their children so that you can feel free to connect with other families as you desire. The e-Directory is intended for networking homeschooling families together and organizing play or social groups. Please remember, however, that the e-Directory is intended for your personal use only and not for business, political, or other solicitation purposes.

Special Needs Support

We occasionally organize events and meetings for our families who have similar challenges and rewards associated with educating and raising their special needs children. During these times, parents of special needs children to have an opportunity to meet each other and discuss future interactions and/or activities that would be of benefit to them and their children.

Resource Directory

For families who are interested in providing and/or obtaining referrals in a number of different areas, the Resource Directory is a useful tool! Families who wish to communicate their family business offerings to other families can list important details. Teens can list babysitting, pet sitting, lawn care services and other offerings that they would like to provide other families. Also, families who have a good referral on a homeschooling resource, such as private music instructor or other academic resource can share their golden finds with others!

E-mail Distribution List

Our e-Mail Distribution List is one of the vital ways that we stay in contact with our families regarding a variety of areas. We not only utilize e-mail to communicate details regarding our events, programs and resources, but also share information with our families regarding other items of local interest to homeschoolers (i.e. events, programs, classes, legislative issues, etc.). We also encourage our families to pass along information to us that they feel is appropriate to share with the group as a whole as well. So if you come across an open program or event that relates to home education and may be of interest to our homeschooling families, feel free to forward it to us for review and to be considered for distribution.

Ministry Information

We also want you to feel free to share the resources and opportunities with other homeschooling families that you know or that you come in contact with who are searching for additional support. In addition to referring your acquaintances, friends and family members who are interested in homeschooling to our website, you may pick up a copy of our Homeschool Ministry Brochure at several of our events.
